All are invited to this very special presentation by Dana Jones on quilts from

Caohagan Island in the Philippines at 6:30 p.m. at the Steamboat Springs Community Center.

Dana Jones is a former  editor of Quilters Newsletter magazine and

the Studio Art Quilt Associates Journal.

From Patricia L. Cummings:
Pagtinabangay: The Quilts and Quiltmakers of Caohagan Island by Dana E. Jones vividly
captures the cooperative spirit of the quiltmaking efforts of 100 quilters, men and women, who
make up one sixth of the population of a 13 acre island in the south Philippine Islands. A
Japanese quilter, Junko Yoshikawa, introduced quilting to the island. (The quilts) are popular in

Japan and recently were introduced to the United States via sales at American Quilter’s

Society shows.  Some of the quilts have been displayed at the National Quilt Museum

in Paducah, Kentucky.
